Rodney Hobson is one of the country’s top financial commentators. He writes a weekly column for the Morningstar financial news website and his beginner‘s guide to the stock market, Shares Made Simple, has been reprinted five times and is in its second edition. He is a regular speaker at the London Investor Show, was a guest speaker on the Fred Olsen World Cruise this year and addresses investment clubs and other organisations. Rodney is a former News Editor for Business News on The Times and he has contributed to the City pages on the Daily Mail and The Independent. He has been interviewed on BBC TV and Radio and on CNBC. During seven years living and working in Asia he was Business Editor of the Singapore Monitor and Deputy Business Editor of the Far Eastern Economic Review.

CEO Bramdean Asset Management LLP
Nicola read Jurisprudence at Balliol College, Oxford. In 1983, she joined S.G. Warburg as a graduate trainee. She worked with Leonard Licht, one of the leading fund managers in the City during the 1980s, and together, they built up the Specialist Equity team of what became Mercury Asset Management, and Nicola was appointed a director of Mercury in 1989. In 1991, Nicola moved to Morgan Grenfell Asset Management and she was appointed Managing Director of the UK business in 1992. Over the following five years, funds under management increased from £4 billion to £22 billion and Morgan Grenfell became recognised as one of the leading managers of UK pension funds. In 1997, Nicola left Morgan Grenfell and set up SG Asset Management for the French bank, Société Générale. The initial target for funds under management was £5 billion in five years. This target was reached after two years and within three years, funds under management had reached £7 billion. In 2004, Nicola set up Bramdean Asset Management LLP with Sir Derek Higgs and the business was launched at the beginning of 2005. Bramdean ran a number of alternative investment mandates before selling the bulk of its business to Aberdeen Asset Management at the end of 2009. Bramdean continues to create and structure innovative new investment vehicles, primarily for the film industry.
Having trained as a barrister, Justin took up corporate finance, working in both Africa and Singapore. He then returned to the UK and helped in the developments towards Big Bang in 1986 in London which led to him helping to found Broker Services in 1986. Broker Services went on to become Barclays Stockbrokers, where Justin was Corporate Development Director. In early 2001, he co-founded Seven Investment Management, an investment management business that innovated the UK investment market with the introduction of the first Sterling Investment Wrap Account. Seven Investment Management now manages and administers around £5.2 billion on behalf of professional financial wealth managers and intermediaries.
Justin has a keen interest in developing the investment market to break down as many of the traditional barriers as possible for both private investors and smaller companies. As part of this he was involved in the original development of the AIM market and the investor educational company, Proshare. He writes regularly for national magazines and newspapers, and is a frequent commentator on television and radio, both in the UK and abroad.
In March, Justin won the ‘Best Industry Commentator 2012’ from the City of London Wealth Management awards, as voted for by professionals and consumers. He is married with one daughter, two cats and a motorcycle, with an interest in archaeology and writes short stories on the Roman Empire.

Zak joined Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking in 2013 and is Head of UK IFA and Listed Sales in the bank’s Global Markets business. Prior to joining the bank, Zak was at RBS from January 2007, where his last role was MD, Head of UK IFA and Listed Sales, within the Markets and International Banking division, where oversaw significant growth of the UK business as RBS became a market leader.
Zak started his career with Gerrard Vivian Grey stockbrokers, before moving to BZW’s technology division in 1992. Having worked extensively on the ecommerce trading strategy of Barclays Capital, Zak moved focus to the retail distribution of capital markets products across the Barclays Group, taking responsibility for the sales of structured products within the UK across the internal retail Group and external intermediary sales.
Zak was educated at Harrow School followed by an RAF university scholarship with the Royal Military College of Science (Cranfield).
David Paul was born in July of 1955 in Northern Ireland. He attended Rainey Endowed School and studied mechanical engineering at the Queens University of Belfast. In 1981 he graduated with a PhD in the subject.
In April 1981 he emigrated to South Africa and was employed by Boart International. The latter was at the time a member of the Anglo group. He was promoted to head of engineering research in 1984.
In 1988 he resigned to start his own company manufacturing rock drilling tools. This company was sold in 1991 to a multinational concern.
While at Boart International he had started to trade in the stock market and has been actively trading in the Johannesburg and world markets since 1991.
In 1993 he joined Progressive Systems College in the marketing of stock market education and software and became a director of that company with responsibilities for sales and marketing of all products in the Johannesburg area.
In 1999 he exited the marketing position and focused on full time trading and part time lecturing and coaching of individuals and several banks and hedge funds. During this time he presented hundreds of stock market ,futures market and forex seminars to retail investors and many to banks such as Nedbank, Investec , Rand Merchant Bank, Barclays, Standard Chartered and Saxo bank to name a few.
In 2009 he joined with Tom Hougaard to form www.whichwaytoday.com. The latter provides real time calls in the futures and forex markets and markets an advanced trading seminar for experienced traders. The product has a worldwide client base.
In 2011 he launched the VectorVest range of products in South Africa and was appointed Managing Director of VectorVest for Southern Africa as of February 2011. The company grew strongly in 2011 and 2012 and a result of this success he was given VectorVest UK to manage as well as South Africa.
From October 2012 to the present he has been Managing Director of VectorVest UK and VectorVest SA. He continues to trade his own account in the share, forex and commodity markets each and every day.
Chris Bailey has over 20 years of investment industry experience at long-only and long-short institutions as a global multi-asset fund manager, strategist/macro thinker and, in the earlier part of his career, as a securities and fund analyst
He strongly believes in the importance of the fusion of top-down and bottom-up analysis taking a view that an understanding of both aspects is the only way to get a full view of global opportunities across equity, bond and alternative investment markets.
He founded Financial Orbit Limited in 2013 and his daily macroeconomic comment and securities analysis with relevance for global investors are posted at www.financialorbit.com as well as his regular ‘Financial Orbit Speaks’ enhanced podcasts. Additionally Chris undertakes bespoke research and consulting work for a number of global asset management firms on both market strategy as well as global securities analysis.
Prior to Financial Orbit Limited, Chris worked for a London based fund management group and headed the team for a range of globally directly invested mutual funds, personally running the Growth, Balanced and Conservative funds (collectively c. US$2bn of assets) all of which were either first or second quartile against their respective peer groups from inception in 2010 to the end of 2012. In the four years prior to this, for the same fund management company, he managed global thematic equity and European equity funds that also outperformed their benchmarks.

Guy founded Flying Colours, in 2014 out of a belief that quality financial advice and investment management should be better value and accessible to more people. In 2000 Guy co-founded Octopus Investments, a UK fund management company with over £5bn of assets under management, before leaving in July 2014. Before that, he was a fund manager for Mercury Asset Management between 1994 and 2000. At Flying Colours he is joined by a team with many years’ experience in the financial advice and investment industry.

Stewart Sanderson – Head of Relationship Management
Stewart joined in March 2013 to run the 7IM Discretionary Relationship Management team. Stewart was previously a Director at Coutts & Co Wealth Management and brings over 20 years of experience gained from his time as an Independent Financial Adviser, Private Banker and Regional Director across the UK Private Banking and Wealth Management landscape. He is responsible for day to day management of the relationship management team at 7IM as well as developing and running relationships himself

Sophie Kilvert – Relationship Manager
Sophie is at Relationship Manager at 7IM working primarily with private clients. She joined 7IM in January 2004, having previously worked with a small private client law firm supporting their high net worth clients. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and also holds the STEP Certificate for Financial Services, Trusts and Estate Planning.
Ian Jensen-Humphreys – Senior Investment Manager
Ian joined the Investment Team at 7IM in 2016 having spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs specialising in equity derivatives, including risk management and hedging strategies. Prior to joining 7IM he spent two years at Citigroup running the cross asset solutions team focussing on UK pension funds. In joining, he has transitioned to fund management and brings with him 17 years of Investment Banking experience. He holds a BA in Physics from Oxford and is a CFA charter holder.

Colin MacKenzie – Private Client Relationship Manager
Colin MacKenzie FCSI is a Private Client Relationship Manager who joined Seven Investment Management in 2015 from Coutts & Co. There, in his capacity as Executive Director in the Investment Office, he was responsible for the delivery of tailored investment services to key clients of the bank. Prior to that, Colin had held high-ranking positions at a number of financial firms including Merrill Lynch, MeesPierson and Credit Suisse Private Banking. He is a member of the CFA Institute and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. Colin has over 32 years of multi-asset investment experience and is a keen golfer.

Charles is the founder of CoInvestor, an investment platform which enables private investors to co- invest alongside established EIS fund managers on a deal by deal basis.
A specialist in start up's and early stage companies Charles has extensive experience in smaller company funding. He was a founding Director of Cresco Capital, an FCA authorised corporate advisory firm based in London. Cresco advises its corporate clients predominantly in relation to strategy and fund raising. Charles is also an advisory Board member for Seraphim Capital, a venture capital fund, and has previously been a Director of a listed venture debt fund.

Successful investor, entrepreneur and avid techie, Michael has extensive experience in technology, finance and business. Originally set up his first business at the age of just 17, selling highly modified, overclocked computers online. Since then, he has spent the last seven years focusing his attention on the world of finance. He only works in industries that he is passionate about and it was therefore only natural that he saw the true value and opportunity behind Bitcoin and the benefits it can deliver, both from a technological and financial perspective.
Now at 28 years of age, Michael has amalgamated his skills and experiences he’s acquired over the years and channelled them into his passion for the Bitcoin market. Jasper joined the market analyst team in the London office in 2014, and has accumulated over eight years' experience working in the financial markets.
He delivers regular commentary, seminars and webinars on trading psychology, analysis and strategy, with a systematic, trend following approach to trading. He is regularly interviewed by BBC News, Bloomberg, CNBC and Sky News, and has featured in The Times, Guardian and Daily Telegraph.
Before joining CMC Markets, Jasper worked as a trader at a Wall Street commodity trading advisory firm, and as a market strategist managing relationships with clients at a broker-dealer in the City.
He writes a mid-morning market update and daily market wrap, plus daily commentaries on US, European and UK stock markets, FX and commodities. Jasper also hosts a weekly charting analysis webinar.
Jasper uses a blend of price-action orientated trend and pattern analysis with the relative strength index (RSI) technical indicator to confirm changes in momentum. He also uses investor surveys, the put-call ratio, breadth indicators and flow of funds data. These sentiment indicators help Jasper to gain an edge in his analysis of global stock markets.
He is qualified as a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) with the Market Technician Association, and has a degree in Finance and Economics.

A venture capitalist and entrepreneur with IT and system development background. Gunnar has been working with his own private equity investments in different countries and jurisdictions for the last 20 years. Gunnar has been responsible for a number of successful industrial exits and IPO’s.

Tom is the principal developer of MarketFlow and its modules, MarketsFolio, MarketsCycle and MarketsAlgorithms. With 20 years experience in financial products, Investment Banking experience at JP Morgan and founding and selling data retail business. Tom also currently actively manages his Investment Portfolio Fund.
With MBA from Glasgow University, Tom focused on Data and ERP Systems. For his research dissertation he was resident at Compaq and SAP to analyse datasets around management of Compaq's resources. He was highly impressed with the way Compaq were using data to improve financial marginability and minimise waste in human resource utilisation.
It was this earlier understanding of data mining and extrapolation, which later became the focus throughout Tom's professional career of dissecting datasets to visualise behavioural patterns, create efficiencies and minimise waste.
After selling the business in 2014, Tom started actively managing his Investment Portfolio. After having mixed results, Tom started developing quant systems to better understand the market price action, and develop strategic high performance strategies. By using MarketFlow application, Tom was able to achieve 30% growth. He not only uses MarketsFlow to actively manage his positions, but also uses the Portfolio Tracking application to consistently perform peer reviews and pick only the strongest performing securities.
